Earthbongo, a Seattle startup that helps volunteers connect around a cause or project, is pitching in to help the Occupy Seattle movement.
Earthbongo says it is reaching out the protesters to help bring some unity to a movement that has been criticized for being disorganized and unfocused.
The site is hosting Seattle-based projects that teach users how to move their money to a local bank and donate supplies to the movement in Seattle, according to an Earthbongo announcement.
Earthbongo allows users to post projects, such as a tree planting, and then solicit other volunteers to participate. The site was founded by CEO Barry Boone, a former director with online auction site eBay.
The Occupy Seattle protest at Westlake Park is a week old, a response to the Occupy Wall Street protest in New York that has gathered momentum in Seattle and other cities.
