Google has a new way for businesses and organizations to connect with the users of its social network — and it looks a lot like Facebook.
Google+ Pages lets businesses create social media pages with a Google web address. The pages allow companies to post content and communicate with customers.
“Not only can they (customers) recommend you with a +1, or add you to a circle to listen long-term, they can actually spend time with your team, face-to-face-to-face,” Vic Gundotra, Google’s engineering chief, wrote on the company’s official blog.
A number of businesses tried to set up sites on Google+ before, but the company discouraged that because it said it wanted to focus on building a community of users first.
Businesses have used Twitter and Facebook for some time as venues to market their brands and monitor what people were saying about them on social networks.

Among the brands with Google+ Pages at Monday’s launch are Macy’s, Pepsi, Toyota USA and H&M.
Google+ users will be able to go straight to some company pages simply by typing in the + sign and company name in a feature called Direct Connect, as well. They can then add them to their Circles if they want to, as well.
