Warner Brothers Interactive has laid off about 60 people in their Seattle-area game studios. The company blames changing market conditions for the cuts.
The news was tweeted on Friday by George Broussard, founder of 3D Realms. A Warner Brothers spokesperson told Joystiq that the layoffs came after a "continual review of our business operations and fluctuating market conditions."
In 2009, when Warner Brothers was stepping up its operations in Seattle, the company hired Laura Fryer from Microsoft to lead operations. Warner Brothers Interactive Seattle includes Snowblind Studios, Monolith Productions and Surreal Software.
