Amazon.com has invested in Foxit, a California-based company that specializes in technology for reading, editing, creating, organizing and securing PDF documents. Amazon plans to use the company’s technology to support reading PDFs on the Kindle. The amount of funding was not disclosed.
In other Amazon news, the e-commerce giant is offering customers up to $5 off a purchase from Amazon.com for using its Price Check app to compare prices, All Things D is reporting. The one-day promotion is on Dec. 10.
BigDoor, which helps companies get into the gamification trend, has promoted Carrie Peters to vice president of marketing and Tommy Lee to vice president of business development. According to Northwest Innovation, both were with the company previously – Peters as senior director of marketing and Lee as director of monetization and implementation.
