eBay Inc. is expected to double its presence at its Redmond office, jumping from 75 employees to 150.
The Wall Street Journal's All Things D reports that eBay is looking to hire developers, testers, researchers, data miners and other positions at its Eastside location, just a few miles away from Microsoft's Redmond headquarters.
The online auction site has 23 positions open locally that are posted on eBay's careers page. Locally, eBay is looking for engineers, developers and designers. eBay joins a growing list of tech companies hiring here, including Facebook, as well as smaller tech companies that are opening offices here to tap into the Seattle area's tech talent pool.
In November, Ken Moss, a Microsoft veteran and co-founder of Seattle startup CrowdEye, joined eBay as the vice president of managed marketplaces technology.
In an effort to regain shoppers and sellers, Bay has been working recently to rejuvenate its marketplace by improving the online buying experience and providing more incentives for sellers to list more items and offer free shipping
