Getty Images has launched GUESTLIST, a partnership with musical artists and bands to offer up new music for movie trailers, films and commercials.
The Seattle digital stock photography and news photo agency has been bolstering its digital music offerings. That includes SoundExpress, which offers clients music tracks for ad campaigns.
The company licenses more than 200,000 tracks a year across film, television, movie trailers, commercials and multimedia projects.
The idea behind GUESTLIST is to offer a fresh, revolving offering of new music tracks that have been “custom-selected for high profile projects that can command premium licensing fees for a single track,” Getty said in an announcement.
“We are thrilled to share our diverse and custom-selected tracks on GUESTLIST that spans multiple music tastes from well-known, critically-acclaimed artists like Joss Stone, to breaking bands like 100 Monkeys,” said Vince Bannon, Getty’s vice president of entertainment partnerships and development. “Getty Images Music remains committed to providing a high value, compelling music collection, and with GUESTLIST, we are delivering a truly current catalogue of hip, new music that offers a perfect fit and solution for higher value licensing and projects.”
Getty’s competitors include Seattle’s Corbis, the digital image company owned by Bill Gates.
In April, Getty Images acquired PicScout, a leader in protecting the copyright of images on websites, for $20 million.
Over the past 15 years, Getty has made a number of acquisitions that have allowed the Seattle company to become one of the world’s largest purveyors of digital images.
