Professional recruiters use LinkedIn most among social networking sites when looking for prospects, followed in order by Twitter and Facebook, according to a recent report.
The study by Bullhorn Reach, a division of the Boston-based Bullhorn Inc. recruiting software company, found that LinkedIn is driving the most views and applications among the three top social networks.
But it also found that Twitter followers are much more likely to apply for a job they find on that network than those found through LinkedIn connections or Facebook friends.
"Overall, Twitter and Facebook appear to be underutilized networks for recruiting, but we expect that behavior to change in 2012," the report said.
In particular, current trends suggest that recruiters will quadruple their networks on Twitter, thanks in part to the recent launch of new business pages on the social network, Bullhorn said.
