Amazon.com Inc.'s cloud computing system is being used by Taser International's new Axon body camera aimed at police officer use.
The New York Times reports the Taser body-camera system records videos of officers who might be involved in deadly shootings, with videos stored in Amazon's (NASDAQ: AMZN) cloud computers. The system has already cleared an Arkansas police officer involved in a deadly shooting.
Amazon in January touted the growth in its cloud-computing services, focusing on use by software developers. But a TechFlash story about the growth cited a trend toward heavier use of cloud computing by consumers and others.
